About Alex
I’m a wife, mother, food lover, and fitness enthusiast who believes food is so much more than fuel. Growing up in Quebec, Canada, the kitchen was the heart of every gathering. I learned early on that meals are where stories unfold, traditions take root, and love is expressed. Flavor wasn’t just something to taste; it was a language of connection.
At 18, I moved to the United States and met my husband in California. My first language is French, and yes, sometimes I speak backwards, haha! Together we built a life filled with love (and food!), six amazing children, and plenty of learning.
I earned my Culinary Arts degree from Utah Valley University, where I competed and won a national title with the American Culinary Federation, as well as contributing to the university’s cookbook. Later, I became certified in nutrition through Precision Nutrition.
Cooking has always been a passion. As a little girl, I’d escape into imaginary kitchens, building meals from toy ingredients and dreams. My “aha!” moment in a real kitchen came from baking my first cake from scratch. My mother was so proud, she had me bake it again for the neighbors. I wish it had been something savory, but no, it was cake.
Yet, my greatest transformation with food came from a back injury that forced me to slow down and sparked my journey into weight training. It rebuilt not only my body but my confidence and identity. I realized how important it is to be mindful of how we fuel our bodies for the life we want to live.
SavoryGains was born from that beautiful collision of food and fitness, of passion and purpose. It’s not a diet or a meal plan. It’s a lifestyle built on flavor, strength, and sustainability. I’ve learned nutrition is often the hardest part of any fitness journey, but it becomes joyful, achievable, and lasting when you create food you genuinely love.
